Vertical Axis Wind Turbine

Horizontal Wind Turbine – a Modern and Reliable Solution for Home Wind Energy Systems

The Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) is the most commonly used solution in household installations and small commercial systems. Horizontal designs are valued for their reliability, high efficiency, easy installation, and stable operation even under variable wind conditions. This is the most popular type of generator used in residential wind energy systems.

Such turbines can supply daily energy demand of a home, holiday cottages, agricultural buildings, service facilities, and telecommunication systems. Depending on the configuration, they can operate as:

  • OFF-GRID systems – with energy storage in batteries,
  • ON-GRID systems – connected to the power grid (using a grid-tied or hybrid inverter).

Modern Construction – an Upgraded Horizontal Turbine Design

The presented turbines are an enhanced version of the classic horizontal-axis design, equipped with:

  • a low-RPM generator with very high efficiency,
  • a PLC-based advanced controller responsible for system management,
  • an automatic wind-tracking system using motor tilt adjustment and an anemometer,
  • triple protection: electronic brake, hydraulic brake, and overload protection.

This construction ensures highly stable operation throughout the year, resulting in a significantly higher energy yield compared to standard tail-controlled turbines.

Maximum Safety and Long-Term Durability

To ensure long-term, trouble-free operation, the turbines are manufactured using components from renowned brands such as ABB, Omron, SKF, Power-One, SMA. As a result, the system offers:

  • over-speed protection,
  • overvoltage protection,
  • automatic shutdown in the event of grid faults or other system errors,
  • the ability to fully stop the turbine (service or storm brake).

An optional automatic hydraulic braking system is also available, operating fully without user intervention.

Advanced Monitoring and Remote Control

The turbines can be equipped with a remote monitoring system providing insight into key parameters, including:

  • wind speed and direction,
  • real-time power output,
  • operational history,
  • service and diagnostic information.

All data can be accessed from a computer or smartphone — from home, the office, or even abroad.

Durable Construction – Maximum Weather Resistance

The turbines feature a special powder-coated protective finish on the blades, nacelle, hub, and tower, providing resistance to:

  • intense sunlight,
  • strong winds and storms,
  • sand and dust exposure,
  • airborne salinity (coastal installations).

The estimated lifespan of the complete system is at least 20 years.

Applications of Horizontal Wind Turbines

Horizontal-axis turbines are installed in many locations in Poland and worldwide, including:

  • residential and agricultural properties,
  • parks and recreational areas,
  • supermarkets and shopping centers,
  • telecommunication installations (BTS towers, repeaters),
  • holiday resorts and agritourism facilities,
  • coastal installations.

The manufacturer also offers hydraulic, free-standing towers available on request.

Technical Features – Summary

  • High generator efficiency – generator efficiency above 96%.
  • Direct-drive system – no gearbox, reduced failure rate, easier maintenance.
  • Premium SKF / NSK bearings – long-lasting and quiet operation.
  • Double and triple-layer protection against extreme conditions and system failures.
  • Optional remote access to the entire control interface.

Control Panel – User Interface

The user can monitor turbine operation via a computer or mobile application, providing convenient control and improved energy optimisation.
