Solar Street Light with Wind Turbine
If you are looking for energy independence, a solar street light with a wind turbine is the right choice. It operates fully automatically, without connection to the power grid and often regardless of weather conditions. Explore the BrasiT offer and equip your area with durable hybrid solar-wind street lighting!
How does a solar-wind street light work?
The operation of a street light with a wind turbine is based on the combination of two renewable energy sources: the sun and the wind. During the day, the photovoltaic panel collects solar energy and converts it into electricity. At the same time, the wind turbine can generate additional power even when the sun is behind the clouds. The collected energy is stored in batteries for later use.
At dusk, the twilight sensor automatically turns the light on, and it continues to illuminate throughout the night until the stored energy is depleted. This means many hours of maintenance-free operation, even in challenging weather conditions. A solar street light with a wind turbine is perfect for locations where access to the grid is limited but reliable lighting is essential — for example in parks, along local roads, tourist areas, and private properties.
Solar street lights with wind turbine – independence that pays off
The autonomy of hybrid lighting means no electricity bills and the ability to install lights even in the most remote locations. This is a great solution for municipalities, companies, and property owners who want high-quality lighting with low operating costs.
A solar street light with a wind turbine works reliably all year long. Thanks to the wind turbine, it continues to function even on cloudy or winter days when access to sunlight is limited. In such conditions, the wind ensures the lamp remains charged and operational.
Hybrid solar-wind lighting – an environmentally friendly solution
Hybrid street lights do not emit exhaust gases and produce no noise. Installation does not require significant ground modification, meaning it does not disturb the natural environment. This is particularly important in parks, nature reserves, recreational plots, and quiet zones. By using renewable energy, solar-wind street lighting perfectly supports sustainability strategies adopted by cities, institutions, and businesses.
Simple installation and minimal maintenance
A street light with a wind turbine does not require specialized installation work, a grid connection, or additional infrastructure. All it needs is a stable base, pole and foundation, and proper positioning in relation to the sun and wind. This ensures quick installation and immediate operation.
Maintenance of hybrid street lighting is also easy. Occasionally, simply wipe the solar panel with a soft cloth to remove dust, leaves, and other debris. This small task can significantly improve charging efficiency and extend product lifespan. Just remember to avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface of the solar cells.
How long does charging take?
The charging time of a solar-wind street light depends on the intensity of sunlight and wind speed. Under optimal conditions, 4 to 6 hours is enough to fully charge the battery. In less favorable weather, such as cloudy days or low wind, this time may increase. However, thanks to the hybrid design, the lamp continues to store energy — if the sun is not available, the wind takes over. As a result, hybrid street lighting maintains longer and more stable operation.
Hybrid street lighting – an investment that pays back
Although a solar street light with a wind turbine may seem like a larger initial expense, long-term savings are substantial. No electricity costs, no requirement for grid connection, and minimal maintenance — all contribute to a fast return on investment. Additionally, access to environmental subsidies or EU funding further increases the financial benefits.
