Solar Street Light
If you are looking for lighting that does not require connection to the power grid and reliably illuminates the area every night, discover the BrasiT product range. We offer smart and energy-efficient LED street lights with a dusk sensor — explore our solutions!
What is a solar street lamp made of?
Solar street lamps are modern and autonomous lighting sources. At BrasiT, we build them using only high-quality components from trusted Polish and European manufacturers. This ensures reliable operation for many years.
Photovoltaic panel and batteries
The key component of a solar street lamp is the photovoltaic panel. It absorbs solar energy and converts it into electricity, which after dark is released as bright and uniform light illuminating the streets. But what about cloudy days, which are quite common in Poland? Solar lamps continue to operate even without direct sunlight because the generated energy is stored in batteries, which should be placed in an underground, anti-vandal and waterproof battery box. This prevents the battery from overheating in summer and overcooling in winter, extends its lifespan, and ensures stable performance regardless of weather conditions. Batteries used in BrasiT systems are also easy to replace, making future maintenance simple.
LED luminaires and control system
Our photovoltaic lamps use LED luminaires as the light source, known for their outstanding service life, energy efficiency and high luminous performance. They adjust their operation to the surrounding conditions thanks to a built-in dusk sensor, which switches the light on at night and off at dawn.
A solar lamp also allows for remote programming — lighting settings can be adjusted using an infrared remote control or Wi-Fi, depending on project needs.
Steel pole and foundation
A solar street lamp also consists of a steel pole and foundation designed to withstand the structural load of the lamp, wind pressure, and harsher weather conditions. The pole with a mounting frame for photovoltaic panels and the foundation are equipped with certificates issued by an independent construction certification body. Poles are certified to EN1090.
What are the benefits of a solar street light?
When thinking about lighting for streets, bike paths, or parks, traditional infrastructure usually comes to mind — lamps connected to the power grid that require extensive installation and construction documentation. In contrast, LED solar street lights have much lower installation and regulatory requirements.
Savings for cities and municipalities
Solar lamps draw energy from the sun, which means that after installation they do not generate electricity bills. Such lighting offers significant savings for cities and municipalities. Poland has millions of street lamps, most of which are inefficient sodium lights consuming huge amounts of energy. Switching to solar street lighting reduces operating costs.
Fast installation
Traditional lighting infrastructure requires many formalities — building designs and permits. Installing a solar street lamp takes far less time and effort. It is enough to assemble the foundation, pole, LED luminaire and solar panel. In many cases, installation in roadside areas does not require a building permit, meaning the lamp can be installed almost immediately with minimal paperwork.
Road safety
Solar street lamps can be installed in locations where grid access is limited or where power outages occur. Lamps placed in such areas help reduce the number of road accidents. With proper illumination, drivers can more easily notice pedestrians, cyclists or vehicles in time.
Solar street lamps already illuminate many streets, parking lots, residential estates, bike paths and parks. Replace outdated lighting with modern, smart and economical solar illumination — contact BrasiT!
