How does the 38W solar LED street light work?

The complete solar system in the 38W LED street light is designed to operate fully automatically and without maintenance:

Solar pole structure compliant with PN-EN 1090

The solar pole and its load-bearing structure are manufactured in accordance with the PN-EN 1090 standard, which defines requirements for the design, production, and conformity assessment of steel and aluminium structures. Applying this standard ensures:

  • quality control of materials and welding processes,
  • compliance with strength and safety requirements,
  • adequate load-bearing capacity for predicted wind and operational loads.

In practice, this means that solar lighting poles are stable, durable, and safe during long-term outdoor operation.

Adaptation to wind zones I, II and III according to PN-EN 1991-1-4

The pole and the solar panel mounting structure are designed and calculated for wind zones I, II and III according to PN-EN 1991-1-4. This means the structure accounts for various wind speeds and loads acting on:

  • the photovoltaic panel (large active wind surface),
  • the lighting pole,
  • the fixture and other structural components.

Thanks to this, a single solar street light as well as entire rows of poles remain stable even in regions with elevated wind exposure, such as open areas, coastal zones, or upland regions.

A single manufacturer of the entire solar pole structure – why is it important?

The entire solar pole structure – both the pole and the solar panel mounting system – is manufactured exclusively by one production facility. Combining pole components from different companies or manufacturing plants is not permitted.

This approach is crucial for:

  • Safety and accountability – one manufacturer takes full responsibility for the load-bearing capacity, stability, and durability of the complete structure, simplifying warranty and formal procedures.
  • Design consistency – all components are matched in dimensions, strength, and installation method, minimizing the risk of installation errors.

Notes:

  1. The above system configurations are based on our actual project experience. They are suitable for areas with an average annual peak solar irradiation of 3.5–4 hours per day.The battery capacity is designed to store enough energy for 4 consecutive cloudy or rainy days.
  2. The system configuration can be customized based on the specific requirements of the customer/project and local weather conditions.
  3. The batteries are recommended to be installed underground inside a battery box.
  4. This prevents exposure to high summer temperatures and extreme winter cold.
    They are waterproof and theft-resistant, while also being very easy to replace later in the service life.
  5. The battery box can also be mounted above ground or on the lamp pole.
  6. The pole can be customized to meet the customer’s specific requirements.
  7. All components are compliant with required certificates and approvals.
  8. The main structural elements — including the pole with a photovoltaic bracket and the foundation — are certified by an independent, notified certification body. They are safety-tested in terms of load-bearing requirements related to system weight and wind pressure at the intended installation site.
    The poles are certified according to:
    EN 1090 and EN 40-5 for special load-bearing and construction structures.
    Any company that does not possess — or cannot provide — such certificates has no right to sell structures that may endanger public safety and could lead to a structural disaster.
