Road Reconstruction with Autonomous Pedestrian Crossing Lighting – Tuchola
In the town of Tuchola, an investment project was carried out involving road reconstruction combined with enhanced lighting of pedestrian crossings using modern autonomous lighting solutions. The main objective of the project was to improve pedestrian safety and increase visibility in traffic conflict zones.
As part of the implementation, 40 W hybrid LED street lights, model HLU-40W/400W/400W/6m, were installed. The lights operate in hybrid technology, combining power from photovoltaic panels and a wind turbine, ensuring full autonomy and independence from the power grid.
For pedestrian crossing illumination, dedicated LED luminaires with asymmetric light distribution were used, specifically designed for this type of application. The luminous flux is directed exclusively onto the crossing area, significantly improving pedestrian visibility while eliminating driver glare.
The street lights were mounted on round, conical steel poles made of S355 steel, with a weight of approximately 280 kg. Each pole was installed on a prefabricated F200 V43 foundation weighing approximately 520 kg, ensuring high structural stability.
The hybrid pole structures were manufactured in accordance with PN-EN 1090 and designed for operation in Wind Zone I in compliance with PN-EN 1991-1-4. A mounting frame for the photovoltaic panel with an LED luminaire arm allowing 360° rotation around the pole axis was applied, enabling optimal adjustment to local conditions.
The solution implemented in Tuchola represents a modern and energy-efficient pedestrian crossing lighting system that significantly enhances road safety, reduces operating costs, and aligns with the principles of sustainable road infrastructure development.
