Autonomous Lighting of Hazardous Areas – Wierzyce (Greater Poland)

In the village of Wierzyce, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, an investment was carried out involving the reconstruction of a municipal road combined with autonomous lighting of hazardous areas. The aim of the project was to increase road user safety at critical points, especially after dark and in conditions of limited visibility.

As part of the project, 50 W hybrid LED street lights were installed, model HLU-50W/520W/400W/6 m. The solution combines solar and wind energy, ensuring stable and independent operation without the need to expand the power grid.

The street lights were mounted on round, tapered steel poles made of S355 steel. Each pole, weighing approximately 280 kg, was installed on a prefabricated F200 V43 foundation weighing 520 kg, ensuring high structural stability and resistance to operational loads.

The hybrid pole structure was manufactured in accordance with the PN-EN 1090 standard. The poles, together with the photovoltaic panel structure and the wind turbine boom, were designed for operation in Wind Zone I according to PN-EN 1991-1-4, ensuring safe use in road conditions.

The applied photovoltaic panel frame, together with the LED luminaire boom, allows 360° rotation around the pole axis. This enables optimal panel orientation relative to sunlight and precise direction of the light beam to areas requiring illumination.

The hybrid road lighting in Wierzyce effectively:

• improves visibility in particularly hazardous locations,
• increases the safety of drivers and pedestrians,
• operates autonomously and energy-efficiently,
• reduces operating costs of road infrastructure.

The completed investment represents a modern and durable solution in the field of autonomous road lighting, perfectly suited to the needs of municipalities and current road safety standards.
