Active pedestrian crossing D-6 – Żeromskiego Street in Sandomierz
As part of the reconstruction of Żeromskiego Street in Sandomierz, a modern, active and safe D-6 pedestrian crossing was implemented, equipped with advanced warning systems and dedicated LED lighting. The aim of the project was to increase pedestrian visibility and improve driver reaction in the crossing area.
Dedicated 45 W LED luminaires were used – asymmetric and directional, specially designed for pedestrian crossing illumination. The luminaires effectively illuminate the pedestrian silhouette while not causing glare to drivers, which is crucial for road safety.
The system was supplemented with warning flashers, activated by pedestrians via a push button. The active signaling attracts drivers’ attention and clearly informs them of a pedestrian’s intention to enter the crossing.
A SAL PP M0200 AKU signaling set was applied, providing independent power supply and stable operation of the warning system. The installation is complemented by an EasyGuide signaling button – an intuitive, illuminated element enabling easy use by pedestrians.
The structure was mounted on a ROSA pole anodized in an inox-black color, resistant to weather conditions and corrosion. Additionally, a SAL DL-10 elastomer was used to absorb impacts and protect the structure from mechanical damage.
The complete solution significantly increases safety – pedestrians are clearly visible from a long distance, and drivers receive a distinct, active warning signal. The crossing was executed in accordance with the latest standards and guidelines for active pedestrian crossings, using modern LED technologies, control systems, and aesthetic, durable supporting structures.
