Active D-6 road sign above the roadway – Zwoleńska Street, Kazanów

In the town of Kazanów, at Zwoleńska Street, as part of the reconstruction of county road No. 4516W, an investment was implemented aimed at significantly improving pedestrian safety in the area of the pedestrian crossing.

The key element of the project was the construction of an active D-6 road sign, powered by the 230 V power grid, installed above the roadway on a pylon structure with a 6 m long arm. This positioning ensures excellent visibility of the sign for drivers approaching from both directions.

Two LED beacons with a diameter of 300 mm were mounted on the structural pole, flashing 24 hours a day. Continuous light signaling effectively attracts drivers’ attention and increases their alertness near the pedestrian crossing.

Additionally, the pylon was equipped with internal LED lighting, improving the visibility of the structure and the signage itself after dark and in adverse weather conditions.

An integral part of the system is a dedicated LED luminaire illuminating the pedestrian crossing, operating based on motion sensors. In standby mode, the luminaire operates at 30% power, providing basic illumination of the crossing zone. When a pedestrian is detected, the system automatically increases the lighting level to 100% power, significantly improving pedestrian visibility.

The implemented solution creates a modern, active warning and lighting system for pedestrian crossings, which effectively shortens driver reaction time, reduces the risk of road incidents, and enhances safety on county road No. 4516W in Kazanów.
