Hybrid Lighting of a Municipal Road Intersection – Libiąż

In the town of Libiąż, the delivery and installation of a hybrid LED street light intended for illuminating a municipal road intersection was completed. The applied solution significantly improves visibility after dark, increasing the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists moving through this critical point of the road network.

The installed hybrid street light HLU-38W/400W/400W/6m is equipped with an LED luminaire with a light color temperature of 4000 K and a luminous flux of 6100 lm. Mounted at a height of 6 meters, the luminaire provides uniform illumination of the roadway, intersection approaches, and waiting zones without glare for traffic participants.

The steel pole structure was manufactured in accordance with PN-EN 1090 and designed for operation in wind zone I. The pole, with a mass of at least 230 kg, was installed on a F200 V43 foundation, ensuring high structural stability and operational safety in urban conditions.

The hybrid system provides approximately 11 hours of operation per day at full power, while the battery capacity allows for a minimum of 44 hours of autonomous operation in the event of several consecutive cloudy and rainy days without access to solar energy.

The applied Polish-manufactured LED luminaires meet stringent quality requirements and hold ZETOM certifications. In this type of project, cheap, uncertified luminaires or imported poles are not used, as components without certifications often fail to meet photometric standards, have unstable lighting parameters, and significantly shorter service life.

Equally important is the quality of the supporting structure – poles without PN-EN 1090 certification do not guarantee adequate resistance to wind loads and vibrations, which in the case of road intersections poses a real safety risk.

The project in Libiąż is an example of the conscious use of proven, certified, and durable hybrid lighting, ensuring reliable operation, high light quality, and the safety of road infrastructure users for many years.
