Hybrid lighting of pedestrian crossings – Wilkowa (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship)

In the village of Wilkowa, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, a project involving the reconstruction of municipal roads was carried out, using hybrid LED street lighting intended to improve safety in the vicinity of pedestrian crossings.

As part of the investment, hybrid LED street luminaires with a rated power of 38 W were supplied and installed, model HLU-38W/400W/400W/6m. The LED luminaires, with a light color temperature of 4000 K and a luminous flux of 6100 lm, provide very good pedestrian visibility after dark and under adverse weather conditions.

The streetlights were equipped with active D-6 “SIGN FLASH” signs, which are automatically activated upon pedestrian detection. This solution effectively attracts drivers’ attention and increases their response in the pedestrian crossing area.

Dedicated asymmetric LED luminaires were applied, specifically designed for pedestrian crossing illumination. The luminaires do not cause driver glare and direct the light flux exclusively onto the crossing zone, ensuring excellent visibility of the pedestrian silhouette. All luminaires are manufactured in Poland and hold ZETOM certifications.

The pole structures are made of S235 steel, in accordance with the construction standard EN 1090, and designed for operation in Wind Zone I. The LED luminaires were mounted at a height of 6 meters, ensuring optimal light distribution.

The hybrid streetlights are equipped with 400 W wind turbines with blades made of carbon fiber. The turbines feature integrated blue LED indicators serving as high-level operational signaling, which additionally improves installation safety and visibility.

The hybrid system provides a minimum of 11 hours of daily operation at full power and operational autonomy of up to 44 hours in the event of several consecutive days without sunlight and wind. A 5-level operating mode can be configured, allowing percentage-based regulation of the LED luminous flux during nighttime hours.

The applied solution combines a high level of safety, energy efficiency, and energy independence, representing a modern standard for pedestrian crossing lighting on municipal roads.
