Active Pedestrian Crossings – Henryków, Biały Ług and Krobanów (Zduńska Wola Municipality)

In the villages of Henryków, Biały Ług, and Krobanów, within the Zduńska Wola Municipality, an investment project was completed involving the expansion of municipal roads combined with the implementation of modern solutions improving pedestrian safety.

A key element of the project was the supply and installation of hybrid active D-6 traffic signs, designed to increase the visibility of pedestrian crossings at critical points of the road network.

Pylon structures with a 6 m outreach arm extending over the roadway were used. This solution ensures excellent visibility of the signage from a long distance and clear recognition of the crossing by drivers approaching from both directions.

Each pole is equipped with two LED flashers with a diameter of 300 mm, which operate in flashing mode 24 hours a day. Continuous light signaling effectively attracts drivers’ attention and increases alertness in the pedestrian crossing area.

Additionally, the pylon body is internally illuminated using LED technology, significantly improving the visibility of the entire structure after dark and in adverse weather conditions.

An integral part of the system is a dedicated LED luminaire for pedestrian crossing illumination, operating based on motion sensors:

• standby mode – lighting operates at 30% power,
• pedestrian detection – automatic increase to 100% power,
• precise illumination of the crossing zone without dazzling drivers.

The applied hybrid active D-6 signs form a comprehensive warning and illumination system that effectively:

• improves pedestrian visibility before entering the roadway,
• reduces driver reaction time,
• limits the risk of accidents in built-up areas,
• raises the safety standard on municipal roads.

The implementation in Henryków, Biały Ług, and Krobanów represents a modern and effective road traffic safety solution, adapted to local needs and current road infrastructure standards.
