Pedestrian Crossing Lighting – Skarżysko-Kamienna, Żeromskiego Street

In Skarżysko-Kamienna, at Żeromskiego Street, a project entitled “Reconstruction of a pedestrian crossing along county road No. 2058T” was completed, co-financed by the Government Road Development Fund. The investment focused on improving pedestrian safety and increasing the legibility of the crossing in a heavily used urban area.

The scope of works included the delivery and installation of modern solar and hybrid LED street lanterns, dedicated to pedestrian crossing lighting. The applied solutions included the models SLU-38W/400W/6m and HLU-38W/400W/400W/6m, equipped with LED luminaires with a 5700 K light color and a luminous flux of 6100 lm.

The installed lanterns provide a high contrast of roadway illumination and excellent visibility of the pedestrian silhouette from a long distance, significantly reducing driver reaction time and limiting the risk of traffic incidents.

The energy storage system was designed to ensure a minimum of 40 hours of autonomous operation, equivalent to up to four consecutive cloudy and rainy days without access to solar radiation. This solution guarantees uninterrupted lighting operation regardless of weather conditions.

The pole structures were manufactured in accordance with EN 1090. The poles and photovoltaic panel structures were adapted for operation in wind zone I, in accordance with PN-EN 1991-1-4, ensuring stability and long-term operation in urban conditions.

The hybrid lanterns were equipped with asymmetrical LED street luminaires, available in left-sided or right-sided versions. The light distribution was designed to illuminate only the pedestrian crossing area, without causing glare to drivers, directly improving road safety.

The applied solution fully complies with the current WR-D-41-4 regulation concerning pedestrian crossing lighting. The LED luminaires are manufactured in Poland, meet stringent lighting standards, and hold a ZETOM certificate, confirming their high quality and effectiveness.

The entire project in Skarżysko-Kamienna constitutes a comprehensive and modern road safety improvement solution, tailored to pedestrian needs and compliant with current urban road infrastructure standards.
