Improving Pedestrian Safety through Solar Lighting – Chocicza

In the village of Chocicza, within the Nowe Miasto nad Wartą Municipality, an investment project was completed involving the installation of modern solar lighting for a pedestrian crossing. The objective of the project was to increase pedestrian visibility and improve safety in an area with high traffic intensity.

As part of the project, a 25 W solar LED street light was installed, model SLU-25W/340W/5m-EKO, equipped with a high-efficiency photovoltaic panel and an energy storage battery. The autonomous power supply system enables continuous operation of the lighting without the need for connection to the power grid.

The street light was mounted on a 5-meter-high pole in the immediate vicinity of a DINO store—an area frequently used by pedestrians and drivers. Precise illumination of the pedestrian crossing significantly improves visibility after dark and under adverse weather conditions.

The use of solar lighting is particularly recommended for pedestrian crossings near commercial facilities, municipal roads, intersections, and local residential areas, where fast installation, low maintenance costs, and operational reliability are essential.

The project contributes to improved road traffic safety, reduced electricity consumption, and the promotion of environmentally friendly solutions in public infrastructure.
