Solar Municipal Road Lighting – Błonie, Łęczyca Municipality

Within the Łęczyca Municipality, a project was implemented involving the reconstruction of municipal road no. 104166E in the village of Błonie with the simultaneous use of renewable energy sources. As part of the investment, modern solar LED street lights were installed to provide safe and reliable road lighting after dark.

Solar LED street lanterns with a power of 38 W, model SLU-38W/400W/6m, were applied. The LED luminaires generate a luminous flux of 6100 lm, ensuring uniform illumination of the roadway, improved surface visibility, and better driver orientation during nighttime and reduced-visibility conditions.

The municipal road lighting significantly contributes to improved road traffic safety, especially on sections previously lacking lighting infrastructure. The lamps enhance road readability, reduce collision risk, and improve driving comfort for residents and road users.

The solar system was designed for fully autonomous operation. The lamps operate for up to 11 hours per day at full power, and the battery capacity provides a minimum of 44 hours of operation without solar energy, corresponding to at least four consecutive cloudy and rainy days.

Additionally, a 5-step operating mode programming function was implemented, allowing percentage adjustment of the luminous flux during nighttime hours. This enables energy consumption optimization and adaptation of lighting levels to local conditions and traffic intensity.

The lanterns are equipped with 450 W photovoltaic panels manufactured using 144-cell Half-Cut technology. This solution offers higher efficiency, better performance under partial shading, and increased annual energy yield.

The supporting structures are mounted on galvanized steel poles made of S235 steel, compliant with the EN 1090 standard. The poles, weighing approximately 180 kg (without equipment), were installed on prefabricated F160 V43 foundations weighing 400 kg, ensuring stability and safe operation within the road right-of-way. The LED luminaires were mounted at a height of 6 m.

The applied LED luminaires feature high mechanical resistance IK10 and hold a ZETOM certificate, confirming compliance with stringent quality requirements. The implementation in Błonie is an example of a modern, ecological, and durable solution for municipal road lighting.
