Solar road lighting of a residential estate – Zacharzyce (Siechnice Municipality)

In the village of Zacharzyce, within the Siechnice Municipality (in Wrocław County), an investment project was implemented involving the construction of solar road lighting for a newly developed residential estate.

For lighting the internal roads, solar LED street lights model SLU-60W/700W/7m were used. The 60 W LED luminaires provide a luminous flux of 9500 lm, and their quality is confirmed by ZETOM certificates and IK09 mechanical impact resistance.

Each street light is equipped with photovoltaic panels with a total power exceeding 680 W, mounted directly on the pole. This PV generator capacity ensures stable battery charging and high energy independence of the system, also during periods of reduced solar radiation.

The lighting system operates for approximately 10 hours per day at full power, and the applied energy storage provides a minimum of 40 hours of autonomy, corresponding to at least four consecutive cloudy and rainy days without access to solar radiation.

The lamps are fitted with gel batteries 2 × 200Ah / 12V, ensuring safe and stable system operation as well as high durability over many years of use.

The pole structures were manufactured in accordance with EN 1090. Tapered steel poles made of S355 steel were used, with the luminaire installed at a height of 7 meters. The poles together with the photovoltaic panel structures were designed for operation in Wind Zone I, in accordance with PN-EN 1991-1-4. The entire system was installed on a prefabricated foundation F200 V43 with a weight of 450 kg.

An additional feature of the installation is the ability to set 5 time-based operating modes, i.e. regulation of the percentage level of luminous flux during nighttime hours. This allows optimization of energy consumption and adjustment of lighting to the actual needs of residents.

The implemented solar road lighting is a modern and environmentally friendly solution that increases safety and comfort of movement within the newly built residential estate in Zacharzyce, while reducing operating costs.
