Solar active D-6 PYLON sign – pedestrian crossing, Międzyrzecz Podlaski

In the town of Międzyrzecz Podlaski, an investment project was completed involving the delivery and installation of an active, solar-powered pedestrian crossing, aimed at significantly improving pedestrian safety and enhancing the visibility of the crossing within the road layout.

The key element of the project was a solar active D-6 traffic sign in a pylon configuration, installed above the roadway. The structure was equipped with an arm with a length of up to 6 meters, ensuring excellent visibility of the signage for drivers approaching from both directions, even from a greater distance.

Two LED beacons with a diameter of 300 mm were mounted on the pylon pole and flash 24 hours a day. Continuous operation of the beacons effectively attracts drivers’ attention and increases their alertness in the pedestrian crossing area.

Additionally, the pylon body is internally illuminated using LED technology, which improves sign legibility after dark and in conditions of reduced visibility such as rain, fog, or snowfall.

An integral part of the system is a dedicated LED luminaire for illuminating the pedestrian crossing, operating based on motion sensors. In standby mode, the lighting operates at 30% power, providing basic visibility while saving energy.

When a pedestrian approaching the crossing is detected, the system automatically increases the lighting power to 100%, intensively illuminating the crossing stripes and the pedestrian’s silhouette. This solution significantly shortens driver reaction time and effectively reduces the risk of road incidents.

The applied solar active D-6 PYLON sign is a modern, autonomous, and energy-efficient solution, ideally suited for road infrastructure where maximum pedestrian safety is a priority, without the need for connection to the power grid.
